Basic Selection Criteria of BSF Tradesmen Recruitment 2025
In order to be selected as a Tradesmen or Constable in the Border Security Force Department, you have to go through a few different stages of test which includes Written Test, Documents Verification, Trade Test and Medical Examination.
If you are able to clear all the stages of test, you will be selected as a successful Central Government Employee for the specific post. After being selected, you will receive a salary of Rs. 21,700/ to 69,100/- Per Month. Some special benefits like free food or ration money, medical help, government accommodation and leave passes will be added with your per month salary structure.

BSF Tradesman Application Fees 2025
For the BSF Constable Tradesman 2025 online application, candidates belonging from the General, OBC and EWS categories have to pay Rs. 150/- along with 18% GST. You can make payment through online methods such as credit card, debit card, UPI or net banking.
However, candidates who belong to the SC or ST category, as well as all female candidates, do not have to pay their examination fees.

BSF Constable Salary Structure 2025
If you get selected for the BSF Constable Tradesman post, you will get a monthly salary between Rs. 21,700/- and Rs. 69,100/-. Along with this, you will also get ₹2,000 as grade pay.

The official notice for BSF Constable Tradesman was released on 25th July 2025. The online form filling started on the date of 26th July 2025. You can fill and submit your form till midnight of 25th August 2025.
The last date to pay the application fee is also 25th August 2025. If you make any mistake in the form, you can correct it between 24th August and 26th August 2025.

BSF Tradesman Selection Process 2025
In Phase 1, there will be a written exam. This exam will consist 100 marks in total. To pass this exam, candidates belonging from General, EWS and Ex-Servicemen categories need to get at least 35% marks and candidates from SC, ST, and OBC categories need to get at least 33% marks.
In Phase 2, many different tests will be done:
First, there will be a Physical Standards Test (PST). In this test, the height and chest of candidates will be measured.
- For most male candidates, the required height is 165 cm and chest should be 75 cm (without expansion) and 80 cm (with expansion).
- For most female candidates, the height should be 155 cm and chest measurement is not needed.
There are some relaxations in height for different categories:
- Scheduled Tribes (ST):
- Males: 160 cm
- Females: 148 cm
- ST from Left Wing Affected (LWE) districts:
- Males: 158 cm
- Females: 147 cm
- ST from North Eastern states:
- Males: 155 cm
- Females: 147 cm
- Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Dogras, Marathas, people from Assam, HP, J&K, and Ladakh:
- Males: 162.5 cm
- Females: 152 cm
- North Eastern states (like Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, etc.):
- Males: 160 cm

After the PST, there will be a Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
- Male candidates have to run 5 kilometers in 24 minutes.
- Female candidates have to run 1.6 kilometers in 8 minutes and 30 seconds.
After that, there will be a Document Verification process. In this step, your original documents like educational certificates, caste certificate, etc. will be checked.
Next, there will be a Trade Test. This test will check your skills in the trade you selected while applying for the posts. This test doesn’t carry marks. So, You just need to pass the test.
Then, there will be a Medical Examination. This has two parts:
- Detailed Medical Examination (DME)
- Review Medical Examination (RME), only if needed
Only candidates who are found medically fit in these tests will move forward.

You are allowed to wear glasses - You must also be physically fit. You should not have:

You must also have CP III vision and you should be mentally and physically healthy. You should not have any problem that can prevent you from getting the job.

The BSF Tradesman exam has 4 parts with 25 questions for each section and it carries a total of 100 marks. Part A is General Knowledge, Part B is Basic Maths, Part C is Logical Reasoning, and Part D is English or Hindi. All parts are important and carry equal marks. So, don’t skip any part.

BSF Constable Online Application Process 2025
- First of all, you can open any browser on your phone or computer and go to the official BSF recruitment website. The website link is https://ift.tt/GMv0P7g.
- After opening the website through my given link, you will see many options on the homepage. You have to click on the option that says “Apply Online for Constable (Tradesman) 2025.”
- If you are applying for the first time, you need to register yourself. For registration, you will be asked to type your name, mobile number, email ID and some other basic information.
- After completing the registration process, you will receive a registration ID and a password. You have to save them for sure.
- Now, you can log in by entering the registration ID and password you have got during the registration process. After login, the application form will open on your screen.
- You have to fill in your personal details like your name, date of birth, gender and your address. Then you have to fill in your education details and choose the trade for which you are applying.
- Once it is done, you have to upload your recent passport-size photo and your signature.
- You may also be asked to upload other documents. Don’t forget to upload your documents in the correct size and format as per the official notification.
- Next, you have to pay the application fee online using UPI, net banking, debit card or credit card.
- After the payment is done, take some time to check all the details you have provided are correct and there are no spelling mistakes whatsoever.
