Objective of the Satyendra Nath Bose Summer Internship Program 2025
The core intent behind this internship is to nurture a research-oriented mindset among young scholars and enhance inter-institutional academic bonding. Eligibility Criteria
The Satyendra Nath Bose Summer Internship Program 2025 is open to a wide spectrum of students from different academic backgrounds. The eligibility conditions are as follows:
1. Engineering Students (B.Tech):
- Must be in the pre-final year (3rd Year) having completed the 6th semester.
- Should be from streams such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering.
- Expected pass-out year: 2026.
2. Management Students (MBA & BBA):
- Includes BBA (UG 2nd year after 4th semester), BBA (Honours UG 3rd year after 6th semester), and MBA (PG 1st year after 2nd semester).
- Applicable to both internal and external students from the Department of Management Studies.
- Expected pass-out year: 2026.
3. Science Students:
- Open to students from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics departments.
- Eligible categories include:
- 1st-year students of 2-year M.Sc. programs,
- 4th-year students of Integrated M.Sc./BS-MS programs (5-year),
- 3rd-year students of 4-year B.S. programs,
- 2nd-year students of 3-year B.Sc. programs.
- Pass-out year should be 2026.
Program Duration and Mode
The internship program will run for a minimum of six weeks, scheduled between June 1, 2025, and July 30, 2025. Candidates can choose between online and offline modes, as per the availability and their preferences. However, accommodation facilities will not be provided to external students opting for offline mode.
Satyendra Nath Bose Summer Internship Program 2025 Application and Selection Process
To apply for the program, interested students must:
- Fill out the application form available at the official NIT Silchar website: www.nits.ac.in
- Attach a research/project proposal along with the application.
- Get a letter of consent (email) from a faculty member of NIT Silchar.
- Obtain a bonafide cum recommendation letter from the parent institute (external candidates only).
- Ensure the application is signed and forwarded by the Head of Department of their institution.
Applicants must meet the following academic requirements:
- External candidates should have a CPI ≥ 7.0 or 70% marks.
- Internal students must hold a CPI ≥ 6.0.
Selected candidates will need to submit a PDF report and a PowerPoint presentation (PPT) to their host faculty at the end of the internship. On successful completion, a certificate will be issued—expected by the second week of October 2025.
