IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay Internship 2025: In a significant initiative aimed at empowering students from the Union Territory of Ladakh, premier Indian Institutes of Technology – IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, and IIT Bombay – have launched a specialized internship program for the academic session 2025-26. This unique program offers short-term and long-term internships exclusively for Ladakhi students from diverse disciplines including engineering, sciences, humanities, and social sciences.
This opportunity is a golden gateway for students to experience academic and research excellence at India’s top IITs, with hands-on learning, mentorship, and networking in an intellectually stimulating environment.
Types and Duration of Internships
The program is divided into two major formats:
Short-Term Internship:
- Duration: 6 to 8 weeks
- Tentative Dates: May 15 – July 15, 2025 (Summer) and December 2025 – February 2026 (Winter)
- Stipend: ₹15,000 (consolidated)
Long-Term Internship:
- Duration: 4 to 6 months
- Tentative Dates: July 1 – December 31, 2025 (Summer) and December 2025 – June 2026 (Winter)
- Stipend: ₹10,000 per month
There are a total of 30 seats available for short-term internships and 15 seats for long-term internships across the three IITs.

IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay Internship 2025 Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility requirements are consistent for both short-term and long-term internships:
Candidates must be:
- Pursuing or have recently completed an undergraduate (UG) degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), or entrepreneurship.
- Enrolled in a UG program or diploma course in any college/polytechnic in Ladakh.
- OR permanent residents of Ladakh studying or graduated from institutions elsewhere in India.
Academic Requirement:
- Minimum 60% marks or a 6.00 cumulative GPA.
- A 5% relaxation is provided for SC/ST/PwD students.
- Final-year students or recent graduates are also eligible to apply.
Documentation Needed:
- Proof of current enrollment or degree completion
- Sponsorship Certificate from the Government of UT Ladakh
- Government-issued proof of permanent residence in Ladakh (e.g., Aadhar, Passport, Voter ID)
Selection Process
Short-Term Internship:
- Based solely on application review.
- No interviews.
- Evaluation will consider academic performance, previous projects, internships, and extracurricular or entrepreneurial activities.
Long-Term Internship:
- A more detailed process involving both application review and an interview (online/offline).
- Selection criteria include academic achievements, internships, projects, and interview performance.

Submit the Application Hit the “Submit” button at the bottom of the form. You should receive a confirmation of submission via email.

Sign in with Your Google Account You need to be signed into a Google account to access and submit the form. Your name, email ID, and photo will be recorded with your submission.
Fill in Your Details Provide accurate and complete information for the following fields:
- Name
- Email ID
- Contact Number
- Type of Internship (Short-Term or Long-Term)
- Duration (Summer or Winter)
- Preference for IITs (Rank IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, and IIT Bombay in order)
- Upload Required Documents You may be asked to upload or submit:
- A No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your college (if currently studying)
- Your final degree or provisional certificate (if graduated)
- Proof of permanent residence in Ladakh (Aadhar Card, Voter ID, etc.)
Get Sponsorship Certificate The Government of UT Ladakh will issue the required Sponsorship Certificate. Ensure you apply for it if not already received.
